Perhatikan contoh kalimat present perfect continuous tense ini: “Amy has been cooking this evening. Now, she has to do the dishes.” Dari kalimat tersebut, kita bisa melihat bahwa Amy memulai kegiatan memasak sejak sore dan membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama untuk selesai.

Di saat Amy menyampaikan kalimat tersebut (atau di saat ini), kita bisa melihat hasil dari kegiatan memasak tersebut, yaitu masakan dan alat masak yang kotor.

Fungsi Kalimat Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Dari kegiatan tersebut, kita bisa menyimpulkan jika present continuous tense digunakan untuk kegiatan berkelanjutan dan efeknya masih bisa terasa sampai sekarang. Present continuous tense biasanya mengacu pada kegiatan yang baru saja dilakukan.
